Overcharged for Pork Settlement: Check Your Eligibility and File by October 29, 2026

If you bought pork for personal use in the United States between June 28, 2014 and June 30, 2018, there is a new settlement claim deadline worth checking out. The Consumer Indirect Purchaser Pork Litigation involves settlements with several pork producers, and eligible consumers have until October 29, 2026 to submit a claim for a possible cash payment.

The lawsuit alleges that several pork producers conspired to limit the supply of pork and increase or stabilize pork prices. The companies deny the allegations, and the court has not ruled that the defendants did anything wrong. Several defendants have now agreed to settlements to resolve the claims.

Who may qualify?

You may be part of the settlement class if you purchased qualifying pork products in the United States for personal consumption during the class period of June 28, 2014 through June 30, 2018. The settlement website has a product eligibility tool that can help you determine whether the products you purchased may qualify.

There are several settlements involved. Clemens has agreed to pay $13.5 million, Hormel has agreed to pay $4.465 million, Seaboard has agreed to pay $10 million, Triumph has agreed to pay $4.1 million, and Tyson has agreed to pay $85 million. Together, those individual settlement payments total $117.065 million. Agri Stats has also agreed to reforms but will not make a cash payment as part of its settlement.

How do you claim the money?

If you believe you are eligible, the important thing is to submit a valid Claim Form by the deadline. The only way to receive a cash payment from these settlements is to file a timely and valid claim.

  • Class period: June 28, 2014 through June 30, 2018
  • Claim deadline: October 29, 2026
  • Opt-out deadline: October 29, 2026
  • Objection deadline: October 29, 2026
  • Final approval hearing: December 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. CST

One helpful thing to know is that you should not assume you are ineligible simply because you do not remember every pork purchase from more than eight years ago. Review the official eligibility information and claim instructions before deciding whether to submit a claim.

Daybreaks Deals tip: If you think you may have made qualifying pork purchases during the class period, it is worth checking the official settlement website now rather than waiting until the October deadline. Settlement payments are not guaranteed, and the final amount any eligible claimant receives will depend on the approved settlement process and valid claims submitted.
