Did you buy Dr. Squatch soap, deodorant, shampoo, body wash, or another qualifying product in recent years? You may want to check this new class action settlement, which could provide a payment to eligible customers.
A proposed $9 million class action settlement has been reached in Guzman et al. v. Dr. Squatch, LLC, Case No. 25STCV03523, in the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles. The lawsuit involves allegations that certain Dr. Squatch products were marketed as “natural” even though they contained ingredients the plaintiffs alleged were synthetic. Dr. Squatch denies the allegations and maintains that its products were properly labeled. The settlement does not include an admission of wrongdoing or liability.
Who may qualify?
The settlement generally covers people in the United States who purchased covered Dr. Squatch products between November 1, 2018 and August 29, 2026. The settlement website says covered products include products that were manufactured, sold, or distributed by Dr. Squatch that contained the statement “natural” on the product labeling.
The listed covered products include various types of Men's Natural Bar Soap, Beard Oil, Cologne, Lotion, Body Wash, Conditioner, Deodorant, Face Wash, Hand Soap, Shampoo, Shave Butter, Toothpaste, Wipes, and other qualifying products. The official settlement documents contain the complete product list.
How much could you receive?
There is not a guaranteed payment amount. The settlement fund is $9 million, but the amount each eligible claimant receives will depend on the valid claims submitted and the settlement's payment formula. The official FAQ also explains that attorneys' fees, settlement administration expenses, and other approved costs will be paid from or in connection with the settlement.
That means it is best not to assume that every claimant will receive the same amount. The settlement still requires final court approval before payments can be distributed.
How to submit a claim
If you believe you purchased a qualifying Dr. Squatch product during the eligible period, you can review the official settlement information and submit a claim online. The current deadline to submit a claim is November 27, 2026.

Important dates to know
- November 27, 2026: Deadline to submit a claim
- October 13, 2026: Deadline to opt out of the settlement
- October 13, 2026: Deadline to object to the settlement
- March 2, 2027: Current scheduled final approval hearing
If you do nothing, you generally will not receive a settlement payment. According to the official settlement FAQ, eligible class members who do not submit a timely valid claim will forfeit their right to receive their share of the settlement fund while remaining bound by the settlement if it becomes final.
As with any class action settlement, it is a good idea to read the official information carefully before submitting a claim. You should also keep your own purchase information or records if you have them, since the claim process may require information about your purchases.
Daybreaks Deals Tip: If you have purchased Dr. Squatch products over the years, it may be worth checking the official covered-product list and settlement website before the November 27 deadline. There is no guarantee of a particular payment amount, but submitting a valid claim is the way eligible class members can request their share of the settlement.
