If you bought an eligible iPhone during the settlement period, there may be a claim worth checking. A new Smartphone AI Settlement involving Apple has been reached, and eligible original purchasers could receive a payment for qualifying iPhone purchases.
The settlement concerns allegations that certain buyers purchased eligible iPhones expecting to receive certain Siri and Apple Intelligence features that they allegedly did not receive. Apple denies the allegations and denies doing anything improper or unlawful, but has agreed to pay $250 million into a settlement fund to resolve the lawsuit.
Which iPhones are included?
The settlement includes the following eligible devices:
- iPhone 15 Pro
- iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 16
- iPhone 16e
- iPhone 16 Plus
- iPhone 16 Pro
- iPhone 16 Pro Max
To qualify, the eligible device must have been purchased in the United States between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025. The purchaser must also be the original purchaser of the device. Purchases made for personal or business use can qualify, provided the device was not purchased for resale.
How much could the settlement pay?
The settlement information states that people who personally submit a valid claim are expected to receive $25 per eligible device. The payment could potentially be increased on a pro rata basis, up to a maximum of $95 per eligible device, or decreased depending on the number of valid claims and other factors.
That means the final amount is not guaranteed. If you purchased more than one eligible device, each qualifying device may potentially be included in your claim, subject to the settlement requirements.
When is the claim deadline?
The claim filing deadline is December 21, 2026. Claims must be submitted online or postmarked by that date to be eligible for consideration.
The settlement received preliminary approval on July 17, 2026, and the final approval hearing is currently scheduled for February 24, 2027. Final payments are therefore subject to the settlement process and court approval.
What should you have ready?
If you think you qualify, you may want to locate information about your eligible iPhone before starting the claim. The official settlement website provides information about finding your device's serial number and explains the available payment process.
You do not need to assume that you will receive the maximum $95 amount. The safest approach is to review the official settlement requirements, confirm that your purchase qualifies, and submit the claim using the information requested by the settlement administrator.

A quick reminder: Be careful with websites or messages asking for unnecessary personal information in connection with a settlement. The official settlement website is operated by Verita, the settlement administrator. It is a good idea to use the official website rather than relying on an unsolicited message or third-party claim link.
As always, check the official settlement terms and FAQs before submitting anything. Settlement eligibility, payment amounts, deadlines and other requirements can change as the case moves forward.
